Yes, you can get grants for Ground Source Heat Pump installations in Southampton and Hampshire. You were able to qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme (this ended 31st March 2022). The Boiler Upgrade Scheme has now replaced the RHI scheme and you can get a £6,000 grant from the government to install a ground heating system.

Ground Source Heat Pumps do qualify for the RHI scheme. But this scheme has now been phased out.
What was the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI)?
The RHI scheme was launched to reward property owners who had installed a Ground Source Heat Pump. Recipients of the RHI scheme were financially rewarded a payment every quarter, for every khw of renewable heat their system produced. A homeowner could earn up to £30,000 over a 7 year period. The RHI scheme ended 31st March 2022. Those who are currently on the scheme are still eligible to receive the payments. New homeowners can no longer enroll.
What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?
The Boiler Upgrade (previously known as The Clean Heat Grant) replaced the RHI scheme. The Boiler Upgrade Grant became available from April 2022 onwards (was initially delayed) and gives grants of £6,000 towards the cost of installing a Ground Source Heat Pump. The RHI scheme was the better option as the returns would have been better.
